Meet The Teacher

¡Hola y bienvenidos!

(Hello and welcome!)

¡Hola! My name is Wendy Martinez-Barrera. First of all, it is an honor and a privileged to be Ballinger's High School & Junior High, Spanish teacher! This will be my 4th year teaching here in Ballinger. It has been a wonderful experience being in a great town that has an awesome and supportive community and school.

I graduated and received my Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from West Texas A&M University in Canyon, TX. #gobuffs🤙  I love to teach Spanish! One of my greatest passions is getting to help others learn and experience the wonders of the Spanish language and it's amazing culture. Doing this is a dream come true!

I grew up in the sunny and hot city of Tamaulipas, Mexico. My family and I moved to the small town of Childress, TX, when I was 8 years old. Having the experience of growing up with both languages and cultures played and continues to play an important role in my life, it has all contributed to the person I am today.

As Ballinger's ISD Spanish teacher, I plan to bring my energy and passion for the Spanish language into the classroom. I want to inspire and encourage my students to learn, see and experience the beauty of knowing another language.

¡Sí se puede!

(Yes, you can!)
